I’m Dr. Angele Close. I am a clinical psychologist, accredited Mama Rising Coach and Facilitator, and certified mindfulness meditation teacher.

For over a decade I’ve been helping women wake up and see clearly the blocks that have been keeping them playing small, fearful, and people-pleasing to the point of resentment, discontentment, and self-doubt.

I help women transform at the root of what’s keeping them stuck in old patterns so they can harness their soul-fueled power and consciously create the life they’re meant to live.

I am passionate about spreading the word about Matrescence - the concept that accounts for women’s immense and widespread identity changes that come through motherhood.

I am here to help a mom know she’s not alone. She is going through something profound and challenging.

I get it. I’ve been there.

She can break the cycles of generational trauma. I’m here to guide her on her path to getting more out of motherhood and living her best most awakened Life.

PROFESSIONAL BIO

Dr. Angele Close is a licensed clinical psychologist, certified mindfulness meditation teacher, and transformation coach.

Her undergraduate training resulted in the award of a double honors degree in Psychology and Women’s Studies from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. She went on to receive her master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of Western Ontario and complete doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education at the University of Toronto where she received her Ph.D. in 2014.

Pursuing her passion in the practice and teachings of mindfulness, Dr. Close was granted certification as a mindfulness meditation teacher through Tara Brack and Jack Kornfield’s two-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program supported by the Awareness Training Institute and the Greater Good Science Center of the University of California in Berkeley.

Dr. Close is most influenced and inspired by the work of Dr. Richard Schwartz, creator and chief developer of Internal Family Systems (IFS), an evidence-based model of healing and psychotherapy. She has worked with Dr. Schwartz individually and has embarked on an intensive independent and community-based study of this model, which guides her clinical work with clients. She is a graduate of the IFS Institute’s Level One training.

For over a decade, Dr. Close has taught workshops and retreats on the topics of mindfulness, self-compassion, and emotional resilience to various groups and populations, including corporate and organizational staff, entrepreneurs, college students, and clinical populations. She’s on a mission to share the benefits of these pivotal teachings in an available way to people who are longing for useful and effective means to navigate the stressors of work, relationships, and personal fulfillment in life.

During her career, Dr. Close has worked in a variety of clinical settings (e.g., primary care, college counseling centers, and private practice). Pivoting her career away from psychotherapy, Dr. Close primarily focuses on what most lights her up: teaching and coaching moms in the profound practices of mindfulness, self-compassion, and IFS so they can heal and release what’s blocking them from being the mom they want to be.

Angele lives with her husband, three children, and two Goldendoodles in the Northshore of Chicago, Illinois.
